Our Calm Down Canine programme helps dogs who struggle to calm around people and other dogs. These are usually friendly dogs, they can be fine off lead, or have lived with another dog, but just don't know how to behave when put under pressure.  Or they may be dogs who you just don't know how they will behave around other dogs because they have not had the opportunity because of their behaviour.

Initial appointment x 1 session of up to 90 minutes with follow up email, + 4 x 60 minute support sessions - £325
The initial appointment is in St Just and following appointments can be in St Just or anywhere in ZONE 1 travel. Other locations can be arranged, travel costs may apply, please call to discuss.

Every client is different, but this is the way we tend to progress:
Week 1 - Assessment, the first session gives me an opportunity to assess you and your dog, understand more about how you got to the point you are at, and plan for moving forward. There tends to be a lot of talking, and we look at any changes you might need to help your dog.
Week 2 - Foundation training, working through simple and effective foundation behaviours to help you help your dog.
Week 3 - Further foundation training and tracking of changes.
Week 4 - Training walks, a look at training walks and how they fit in to the picture.
Week 5 - Integration in to 'real life'  and a review and re-assessment to see what further help you might need.

So, that means after the initial asessment, we have four support sessions to work on the issues. I have found that is a good number to push through the training and see progress. They could be in St Just, and / or gradually building in real life situations. Further support sessions may be needed to meet your goal.

I also have my Calm Down Canine workshops which are great for working alongside other dogs.

Clients are encouraged to take notes during the sessions, but I will also send you through a summary of the exercises that we have covered after our first appointment and any supporting notes. Either clients or I can film short sections of the training. Often we might film a summary of what we have worked on. Note that any filming must not be broadcast or shared without written consent. I also have access to lots of videos and resources that can be sent through to you via email after sessions as applicable.

Where do these sessions take place?
First two sessions in St Just. The other session can be in St Just, or anywhere in ZONE 1. Sessions further afield, travel costs will apply.
Sessions must be used up within 3 months, and ideally schedule in the sessions within 6 weeks to ensure that we are following up and pushing you on with your training.

NOTE THAT AS WE WILL BE WORKING OUTSIDE, BETWEEN CLOCKS CHANGE OCTOBER AND MARCH, YOU WILL WANT TO PICK TIMES BEFORE ABOUT 4PM.

Why choose me?
An experienced trainer and behaviour counsellor can be invaluable in getting your unruly puppy back on track, your adolescent or adult dog to focus, or your rescue to relax. It is good to get help from someone qualified in behaviour with a vast amount of experience - I have worked with thousands of dogs over the years. It's not about quick fixes, but by utilising my extensive experience and getting it right we can get quick and effective results.  I offer practical and non-judgmental advice. I know how to put in emergency procedures, preventative measures, solve problems, and prevent problems from escalating. Most importantly, all training is kind to both you and your dog.
